UPDATE:

A Thousand Thank yous!

Hello everyone, firstly a thousand thank yous! We have reached our initial target in a most impressive time.

Thank you so so much, it really does show how much love and support there is four our wonderful club and it is truly humbling to see.

But I don’t think we’re done, I think we can achieve more together. So we’re going to keep the funding page open and see how much we can raise over the summer.

With it pretty much confirmed that we’ll see no cricket this season the club has very little chance of creating any type of income, so these donations are not only generous but in some ways vital.

Everyone’s ongoing support is hugely appreciated.

There is an update on how you can spend your banked money. So instead of the 25p of every donated pound just being available as bar tokens, we’re offering up the option to put that banked amount towards next year’s membership subs. The choice is entirely yours.

Once we do close the GoFundMe page and tally up the final amounts, we will be in touch with everyone individually to see how you’d like to redeem your banked cash.

So thank you once again, and let’s keep up the great work.

Can you help Mistley Cricket Club raise £1000 this summer?

Hello everyone, I hope you are all keeping safe and well in these extraordinary times.

You may be aware that we had planned to kick off the season with a full day of cricket, socialising and drinking at the club on April 11th. We had been looking forward to using our curtain-raiser to launch a few new initiatives focussed on delivering an improved social experience at the club in an effort to stimulate more enjoyment for all.

With this sadly rendered impossible, at least in the short term, the committee have been scratching their heads about how we can do something in its place.

Why are we doing this?

One of the main reasons we have been looking to give the bar, and social offering, a bit of a refresh is to try and increase the club’s overall income. The committee is very aware that to survive and thrive as a club we all need to work together to create a great atmosphere and buzzing social scene in order to generate the income required to drive the club towards a successful future on and off the field.

COVID-19 has certainly thrown the cat amongst the pigeons, but we have had an idea!

Whether we take to the cricket field or not this summer, many of the season’s costs are unavoidable. In an attempt to raise funds to help the club maintain a healthy financial position, we’ve decided to launch a fundraising initiative for 2020.

We are aiming to raise £1000 to contribute towards the season’s continued running costs. To do this, we have created Mistley Cricket Club’s very own Go Fund Me page. In addition to which, instead of simply relying on everyone’s kindness and love of the club, we wanted to include an incentive to give a little back.

Therefore, for every £1 that you contribute through the club’s Go Fund Me page, you will earn 25p back in bar tokens to spend when we are finally allowed to be within 2 metres of each other.

So, as we all sit there on summer Saturday evening, missing the joy of those post match beverages, why not donate a few quid to the club and bank some beer money ready for when we can have a good old knees up!

Plus! With our new bar menu set to be released when we reopen, the money you give, and get back, will go that little bit further. For every £12 you give to support the club, the club will give you a pint, a rum and coke, a gin and tonic – or anything else worth £3 on the new price list. Want to make it a double? Drop by the MCC Go Fund Me page and leave £20.

Thanks for listening,

How else can you help raise funds for Mistley Cricket Club?

Shop with Mistley on Easy Fundraising. The UK’s biggest charity shopping fundraising site, which has allowed the UK public to raise over £30million for good causes simply by shopping online as normal!
In the last 12 months, the MCC Hundred Club has given away over £2,750 while raising just as much for the club. By spending £5 a month to join the Hundred Club, or taking an extra number, you support the club, increase the prize pot and, of course, give yourself a chance to win.
If we are unable to get together in person this summer, the club is aiming to host some virtual events to get people together online and raise some funds. Quizzes, Race Nights, Virtual Congas – any ideas, suggestions or support welcome!
